Swish World Group today confirmed that it has formally commenced legal proceedings against West Yorkshire Police in relation to alleged breaches of the Human Rights Act 1998 and rights protected under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
The proceedings relate to actions and conduct which Swish World Group alleges resulted in serious infringements of fundamental rights and protections guaranteed under UK and international human rights law. The company states that the legal action has been initiated following extensive review and legal consultation regarding the circumstances surrounding the matter.
Swish World Group said the proceedings seek accountability, transparency, and appropriate legal remedies in respect of the alleged violations. The company also stated that it considers the protection of fundamental rights and due process to be essential principles within a democratic society.
